Prayer Needs – The Children of the Blogosphere

My heart has been breaking. I was visiting at 5 Minutes for Mom yesterday, when I found out about Hannah, a precious little girl whose life was tragically cut short this week, due to a drowning accident. I visited Hannah’s mother’s blog yesterday, and saw pictures of her — beautiful little girl! Big blue eyes! You can just FEEL her personality in those photos. Everytime I think about Hannah and her family, I feel my heart get caught in my throat. My eyes well up with tears. I can only imagine the heartache that her family is feeling. Please join me in lifting this family up in prayer.
Last week, while reading Faith Lift Fridays, I found Annie, whose precious little girl Isabelle survived a near-drowning incident three years ago. Annie’s faith and perseverance as she walks this path both astounds and inspires me. And Annie isn’t alone!
There are so many children-of-bloggers (and their families) who need prayer, such as Gloria, another near-drowning victim, Parker, a sweet little guy with Down’s Syndrome and multiple medical needs, and Heather’s daughter, Emma Grace, who has mitochondrial disease.
I know there are many many other children I am not currently aware of who are also in need of prayer. We, the Christian bloggers are such a vast community — I know we can make a difference! Please take the time to read these stories, pray for these families, and if able, give them a financial contribution, as many of these families struggle with extensive long-term medical expenses which are not covered by insurance. Also, if you know of any other children, please share their stories. I want to pray for them.
A Day of Prayer!
Jesus tells us that where two or more are gathered in prayer, He will be present! Let’s all gather together in the blogosphere for the children! I will be setting aside this Thursday, July 26, as a day of prayer, for the children listed above, and for any others that come to my attention. Will you do the same? If so, please leave a comment to let me know you will be praying, and spread the word to as many people as you can! Let’s lift these needs up to the Lord together!
(And if any of you fine creative bloggers would like to make a button to help spread the word about the day of prayer, have at it!
This idea just came to me this morning, so I haven’t had time to make a button yet.)

I read Hanna’s story, Janne…and it is heartbreaking! I will surely join you in prayer for these precious little ones on Thursday. Thanks for doing this. I’m also sending you later tonight a piece that someone shared on Faith-Lift Fridays…it encouraged me and I thought it might bless you.

Thank you for doing this. My own son recently survived a sand hole collapse at the beach (you can read about it on my blog), which would’ve been fatal if someone had not discovered he was there after many minutes of being completely buried. In addition to prayers of praise and thanksgiving, I would very much appreciate prayers for him and his brother as they continue to deal with the trauma of what happened.
Thanks for doing this!

My name is Tammy. I’m Parker’s Mom. The same Parker you have listed in your post above.
How can I say thank you for thinking of this? I believe, with all of my heart, in the healing power of prayer.
Thank you.

This is so wonderful of you to initiate this day of prayer for these children. As a mom of 6 blessings, I’m honored and privileged to be a mother and be given my children–they are priceless, precious gifts from God. I’ve read about Hannah, Parker, and Emma, but did not know of the others. I have been praying, most recently, for Hannah’s mom and family and for Parker and his family, but I’ll begin to pray for all of the above.
