We have a couple of new ponds in our backyard now, as it rained from Thursday through Sunday — and boy do I mean RAINED!
We needed it, desperately — but herein lies the problem…when it rains for days (or even hours), I literally can’t function. I get sleepy, can’t wake up or “get going”, have no energy, am irritable, can’t think straight…I believe if I lived in the Pacific northwest, I would turn into a blithering idiot. I wonder what causes this. Can a human being be a photoautotroph? I honestly believe that my body depends on photosynthesis for energy. Without the sunlight, I would just waste away. I am EXTREMELY affected by the weather, and not just in “mood”, but my entire health and state of being.
So, the weekend was wasted. I just kind of barely existed. I soaked up enough vitamin D yesterday to be back among the living again. Now if the sun will make its grand appearance again today we’ll be all set.
The torrential rains of June did bring along some excitement for the children though. Hail! They were fascinated by the larger-than-marble-sized hail. Most people would come inside when the hailstorm begins. Not my children. They wanted to go out and collect some (yes, we now have hail in our freezer). They finally did come running inside when one very loud thunder clap left them all (even the older boys) screaming like girls. I’ve never seen children move so quickly!

Wow; hail, amazing. I’m affected by weather too; can’t stand more than one day of rain at a time. But then since I’m hardly ever outside, I should be taking my liquid Vit D, which I started giving to the kids. My levels are almost non existant (but I keep forgetting to take it!). If you want to try it it’s Biotics Research Bio D Mulsion Forte. Best kind out there; maybe it will help! :-)

Very cool! We don’t get hail very often around here… usually that’s a good thing but man oh man, we could use a new roof! ;)
I’m glad you let your kids get out and get dirty/wet/soaked. The hail is something they will remember for a long time!
