What a find! I mentioned in my closet organization post that my new organizer was worthy of a blog post of its own, and now you will see why.
A couple of weeks ago we bought a new-to-us van. We, having purchased it over the internet, were fully expecting it to be as described (it was described as an XLT, such as our old van), but it wasn’t. It was the base model…with no extras; not even storage pockets in the doors! So we started out on a quest to buy some sort of console or organizer to keep our necessities and maps in — but we soon found that those organizers sold in the automotive departments are *well* out of our price range.
Thankfully, during a trip to Costco, we happened upon this!
Introducing the MemoryStor Universal Cart & Organizer!
This thing, which is designed to be a scrapbooking cart, fit the bill perfectly! It fits between the two front seats, and is quite roomy with 46 storage pockets & compartments (including an indexed file compartment), and a cover!
View all (larger) photos of the organizer in the van here.
So fast forward to my closet cleaning adventure. I do a lot of sewing, as you can probably tell by all of those pattern containers in the photo. But I never really found a good way to store all of my sewing supplies. I have tried tackle boxes, floss boxes, baggies, miniature Tupperware-type containers…but they never all quite fit together. And those sewing baskets? Forget it! I have much too much stuff for that!
So when I began my quest for an organized closet, I had a light bulb moment. The storage tote that we have in the van would work wonderfully for my sewing supplies! So I called Rob at work and asked him to stop by Costco on the way home and pick another one up. Here are the results!

Isn’t this a great little cart?! And so easy to just wheel from room to room. I believe I will buy one of these each paycheck while supplies last, as it would be perfect for teacher supplies, art supplies, tools (Rob has already requested one for these), scrapbooking stuff…all kinds of things!

Looks great!

And how many of these did you end up geting for your home? ;O) I especially love that it’s pink.
Too big for my car though, do they have slimmer version?

I have got to get one or six of those for my sewing! DH has been comenting on how my projects seem to be “leaking” all over. None of my boxes fit togethr well, and everyhing seems to end up in the wrong box. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for such a great post!

I love this cart. I use it for my Scentsy business. I found it at Costco, but I didn’t have the option of this wonderful color. Mine is boring gray. I wish I could have found one like yours. I think this cart is so wonderful, it can benefit many occassions and businesses.

I found this wonderful cart at my local Teen Challenge Thrift Shop for $8.00. It is only gently used. There is nothing in the middle part. I came on-line to see how it could be properly organized. I have a plan to start scrap-booking. I have years of Photo’s, lots of those squiggly scissors, and a few acid free scrap books from yard sales. I am really on a budget, so wish me luck!
